About the Event

MARCH MEETING PROGRAM

George Hernandez: Community Communications Liaison, North County Sheriff’s Department.

While we read about a number of issues in the city of San Diego, we aren’t always aware of what’s happening here, where we live. Mr. Hernandez will be addressing many of the concerns we all have about safety, the fentanyl crisis, homelessness, crime, etc. in our own community.

Michelle Rotsheck: Regional Director, California Federation of Republican Women

Michelle will give us a presentation on “The CFRW/NFRW – What’s in It for Us? What Is Its Agenda?” As you know, a portion of your dues goes to the CFRW and NFRW, the largest women’s organizations in the United States! How can we benefit as a club? How can you benefit as a member? With the presidential race looming ahead of us, it will be important for Republican women to be unified and play a significant role in the selection of our candidates and getting those candidates elected.

(On a personal note, one of the highlights of being involved with the CFRW/NFRW for me, in the “old days”, was being a delegate to the NFRW National Convention during the 1984 campaign, hearing and meeting with the candidates, including President Reagan. Later, as Co-President of Fairbanks RWF, we were able to take a delegation to meet with him privately in his LA office.) There are lots of opportunities out there ladies that we need to take advantage of!

Please remember to invite a guest to this meeting and spread the word of what a dynamic, energetic and committed group we are!

Updates from Legislative Chair, Cindy Seltzer, on issues we need to be aware of.

 AT OUR LAST MEETING

Thank you to all of you who took home mailers or had “mailing parties” for Reform California’s “California Taxpayer Protection Act” and “Stop the Mileage Tax”. For more information on what you can do and upcoming events, go to reformcalifornia.org

Jordan Gascon, Executive Director of the San Diego County Republican Party encouraged us to become involved at the local level where we can really make a difference. See the website for volunteer opportunities and upcoming events at www.sandiegorepublicans.org.

As always, we will have some surprises and fun, a special raffle, etc. to celebrate our being together and St. Patrick’s Day.

“An optimist is a person who sees a green light everywhere, while a pessimist sees only the red stoplight – the truly wise person is colorblind.”
